The bike portion of the event starts and finishes at the Imperial. Riders will travel UP through Maupin and finishes riding along the banks of the Deschutes. Here is a link the the basic routing.

3.5 miles – From the Imperial to Blue Hole. Boats will be shuttled to the finish after completing the paddle/row section. The stretch of river is mild with one set of class 1-2 rapids. There will be assistants to help enter and exit the water, and there will be safety boats on the course. PFD’s are required and provided for those who rent the boats as part of registration. A safety briefing will take place at the boat launch, just prior to shuttling to the start.

* We recommend an inflatable kayak. You can reserve one with your registration. If you reserve/rent a boat through the registration we will have it at the start, and pick it up at the finish for you.
* If you choose to use your own kayak, we highly recommend a having a spray skirt.
